Professional Hopes and Goals
One
hope that you have when you think about working with children and families who
come from diverse backgrounds (any format and any length)
One hope that I have when working with children and families who come from
diverse backgrounds is to create a positive learning environment for children
and their families. This environment
will promote relationships that are respectful, healthy, safe and caring. There will be equal opportunities, guidance
and support for all as well social justice and equity. My hope is also to be as supportive as
possible of children and parent needs, while at the same time providing the
best knowledge possible that will enable children to become successful in
life.
One
goal you would like to set for the early childhood field related to issues of
diversity, equity, and social justice (any format and any length)
One goal that I would like to set for the early childhood field related to
issues of diversity, equity, and social justice is to be able to bring positive
opportunities that are geared toward social justice, diversity, and equity in
the early childhood field. I would also
like to engage children, families, communities and advocates in committing to
continued reflections of cultural differences that will allow each of us to
positively make a change in these areas. As a professional I would like to implement
strategies that foster these issues without showing prejudice or bias.
A
brief note of thanks to your colleagues
It has been an honor and a privilege
to work with such a professional group of individuals including my
instructor. I would like to thank you
all for sharing your professional and personal insights regarding various
issues in the early childhood field. I would like to wish each of you continued
success during your journey in the early childhood field and may Gold bless
each of you.
Kesha,
ReplyDeleteI can appreciate your goals. Each child and family should always have a voice that speaks of their uniqueness within the learning environment and the world. Their voices deserve to be heard without criticism or ridicule. With that being said, we hold a great responsibility as educators to ensure that our children and families' voices are continuously heard and acknowledged.
I wish you continued success along your educational journey! It has truly been a pleasure sharing ideas with you throughout this class. :)
Kesha,
ReplyDeleteI just want to say that I have learned a lot from reading your blog and discussion posts. I believe that the most important part of this class has been sharing our personal experiences with our other people. It has been a difficult journey reflecting on incidents that are so personal; however, I believe that we have all grown as a result. My hope for all of us is that we take these lessons to heart and help others come to appreciate diversity and strive for social justice.
Thanks for all of your hard work this term,
Amanda
Kesha,
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the insights you passed along in your blogs throughout the weeks in EDUC 6164. I have learned alot about what we have been studying through reading your blog. I like your goal about implementing strategies that don't show bias or prejudice towards our children or their families. I too, aspire to do this in my classroom. I wish you all the best going forward. I know you will make a huge difference in the EC field!
April

Always remember, "In order to save the world, we have to save one child at a time".
